Well, we’re over 48 hours and Kylie is doing fine with her feedings. They started feeding her on Thursday at noon. They gave her 7 cc’s (not quite 1/3 oz) of milk every three hours, checking each time to make sure she was digesting it ok. She didn't have any funky green stuff, nearly all of it has been digested each time they check. For some reason they didn’t start with the formula this time, we never got an explanation why. We sure won’t argue though, milk is best. They are going extra slow with her because of her history of difficulty digesting. After doing fine for 48 hours they bumped her up to 10 cc’s (just about 2 teaspoons). So far so good! We’re not getting too excited yet, but things are definitely headed in the right direction. They need to get her all the way up to around 50 cc’s, so we have a long way to go, but she is FINALLY progressing.
I took Emily in to see and hold Kylie today. Usually she gets bored pretty quickly, within 10 minutes. Today she didn't want to leave. We probably stayed nearly 25 minutes. Kylie was fussing quite a bit, but she has a very soft cry. Emily kept thinking she was laughing, so she laughed. Oh well, at least she enjoyed her time with the new baby sister.
