Not much is going on in the land of Kylie. She is still in the ICU, they are trying without much success to get her off of her IV blood pressure medicine and on to an oral one. She doesn't want to eat and she has tons of gunk in her throat, which makes her cough and choke and further dampens her appetite. The breathing tube caused all the gunk and they keep trying to suction it out of her only being successful once, but at least that was something. David and I both got to hold her today, which was nice, but awkward with all the cords/tubes. From what we know as soon as they get her off the IV blood pressure medicine she will be moved down to intermediate care, it's just that her blood pressure is crazy erratic right now. It sends the nurses and residents in a frenzy, but the surgeon seems to think it's normal. We are going on his optimism and trying to ignore the "emergency" EKGs that occur daily. She also, finally, got a bath today. Yea! She stunk pretty bad. So she is all nice and clean, but her hair is an absolute mess from laying and pulling at frizzy curls. But hey, most days her hair is a frizzy mess, so she looks like my kid. :)
As for me and David, we are good, well fed from the wonderful people from Church and the Ronald McDonald House. I would love to have a comfy place to put my feet up as my ankles are starting to show signs of end of pregnancy--i.e. they are pretty darn swollen. However, if that is my biggest complaint we aren't doing too bad. Hopefully we will get home sometime early next week, but really I have no idea when. Thanks again for all the help and prayers and I really can't wait to have us all home again.
