Spring Break

I know your thinking "spring break??", uh it's April.  I know.  But Jennifer passed away right at the end of spring break and I never documented all the fun from the week prior.  So, I am going to step away from the Wacky Wednesday's of April (note:  3 kids birthdays all on Wednesdays this month--6th, 13th, and 20th) and back up to spring break.

Here we go

On Monday of Spring Break I was a little daunted by the idea of them all being home the whole week, but we really all had a great time together.  Monday, if I remember right, it rained so we just had a lazy morning and then headed to Kylie's physical therapy in mass.  People there always seem so shocked when I walk in with four kids...it's fun to watch.  Anyway, then we had family night and just had a quiet day.

Tuesday: Sally and I headed to Stomping Grounds.  It's an indoor play place and restaurant.  More play place than food.  There had been a groupon for a discounted ticket and free lunch, so we went.  I was most worried about Kylie, but instead, she was the one that fussed and fussed when it was time to leave.  She loved it.

Wednesday:  David took the day off and we had considered going to the free day at the rodeo, but crowds weren't sounding all that good, so instead we loaded into two cars, packed a fabulous picnic lunch, the hammock and all the bikes and bike trailer and headed to Brazos Bend State Park.  We had a blast.  The weather was perfect.  We went on long bike rides on the trails until the kids' (and shhh, but mine did too) legs hurt and then rested and let the babies rest and then went again.  We saw alligators and played at the playground and just had a terrific family day.  The kids are begging to go back and go camping---maybe...am I up for it with four and two little ones....we'll see.

Devin really wanted the sandwich, I think he got some too

Devin had a cold that went to his eye, he looked like he'd been in a bad fight and really goopy
 David helped them climb up

Thursday: St. Patricks day.  I started off the day with green smoothies.  The kids loved them.  David had major issues with spinach being liquefied.  I thought they were great!  Then the kids headed to their pioneer themed primary activity and the little ones and I ran some errands.  We made dinner for a friend that night and just had a good day.

Friday:  We went to the park and the kids spent most of the time on the swings--hello, we have swings in the backyard, but oh well.  Then that night we watched a movie and had pizza and let the older two kids take a bath in our big bath tub with bubbles.  They think that's the greatest thing in the world.  And yes they had on their swimsuits, way too old not too!  Then David and I stayed up incredibly late and prepared for a garage sale.  We did make some cash so that was nice.
Well, that about sums it up.  I really wanted it all documented for my own sake.  As you know Saturday turned out very badly that week.  The weather was perfect and it just is staying that way.  It is so great.  The last couple of weeks the kids get home from school and drop their backpacks and run outside as fast as they can.  They ride bikes and play in the back yard and I have to beg them to come back in for homework and piano practice.  I love it!
