More of Summer

Alright, for any of you not from this great state of Texas and may be worried about Tropical Storm Edouard--forget about it. As much it as created some wind and rain it certainly does not deserve the networks dedicating their entire lives for the last 24 hours keeping us updated on every blade of grass that was blown over. Local networks drive me crazy. Now that I have that off my chest; on to the fun stuff.

As you all know summer and rain makes grass grow and Dallin looks forward to mowing the grass with David all week. Most Saturday mornings he comes bounding down the steps before 7am declaring loudly that is time for Daddy and him to "move the lawn". They have a really good time together.

Other summer news: we have continually spent many days at the pool and library trying to stay away from the awful heat that is suffocating. Our kids participated in the local library's summer reading program and they have each earned a trophy, which they are very anxious to receive. I promised them that today for sure we would go to the library to get them, but alas the library is closed thanks to the couple of rain drops named Edouard that are falling from the sky. Nothing is open today!!!--did I mention that is why I am blogging? :)

A couple of weeks back Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey made their way to the great city of Houston and of course we were there to enjoy the fun--(Thanks Houston Chronicle once again for fully supporting our Entertainment Budget!). We went early so the kids could get up close with the elephants and acrobats and clowns. They even tried on some clown outfits and really enjoyed themselves. Toward the end of the second half Dallin was anxious to go home and they were both whining for snow cones. Now I am not that cheap, but I REFUSE to pay $15 for ice and flavor even if it does come in an elephant cup. Fifteen Dollars??? The people in front of us were pulling $20's out of their wallet like it was never ending...anyway the circus was fun--we just left the souvenirs for the other suckers out there. We made snowcones at home a couple of days later. (By the way, our snow cone maker and four-flavor-kit cost less than $15) Anyway, enjoy the pics.

Well I have also found the time to paint Dallin's room and it helped make his room feel a bit smaller. I think he has been overwhelmed considering the tiny room he was used to. Anyway, one really long day of work and it is all done. Yea!

We have added some baseball themed wall stickers to cheer it up a bit!

Good kid pics! These first ones were taken last night at our ward "Olympic" Family Home evening. Wasn't it a great sunset?

I am ignoring the kids in order to blog SO...they decided to dress up and pretend to go to Antarctica--so fun!
And lastly, the other day Emily was eating Ramen Noodles for lunch and David was sitting across the table from her. She looked up at David and said, "Hey Daddy, you hair looks like Ramen Noodles!" So, now we would all appricate it if you would refer to David only as Ramen Head! :)
So, here is a video clip of Kylie laughing (it is really more of a honk) at Daddy's Ramen Head!
