First of all beware, this post contains an excessive amount of pictures!!! Well, we started off the week, last Saturday, with a trip to Dewberry Farm. Tons of fun!! We spent about 45 minutes getting lost in a corn maze.
Then headed over to the swings...
And ropes...my word did our kids love these things!! They were on them for so long that I eventually just sat down in the hay and fed Kylie lunch and then we still had to drag them out of there.
We went to the pig races next and then headed to the corn train ride...
And then to the pedal cars, Kylie and I sat this one out, but the other 3 had a blast.
Finally we took a hayride to the pumpkin patch, we looked and looked,
And finally settled on the BIGGEST pumpkin they could find.
On Monday night for Family Night we carved the pumpkin and for some unknown reason I don't have an after shot of it from that night. We did have another regular pumpkin too, but no pictures of that one either.
However, the next 3 pictures I would like to call The Death of a Pumpkin. Only people who live in such humid rainy October weather can really appreciate the true molding process of a pumpkin. It is disgusting. And yes, the wetness on the last picture, on the ground, is from the pumpkin not from rain.
Also, my little lady's school doesn't believe in letting the kids dress up for Halloween, so instead they have red ribbon week (anti-drugs) with a different theme each day, (twin day, slipper day, wear red day, etc.). So, this is crazy hair day. As one of Emily's friends put it, "Emily was famous!" She really enjoyed herself. And hey, it only took 1 bottle of hairspray. :)
Then on Wednesday night we had the Youth Party for Church we all got dressed up and this is before we left. I need to add some from the party, but I thought this was getting overwhelming with pictures as is...Vampires, Chickens and Pirates...oh my!!
On Friday, Dallin had his Halloween Party at Preschool and then that night we had the trunk or treat at the Church.
Here is Dallin and Peyton
Emily and Kate
Then on Saturday we headed to the U of H football game and decided it would be a terrific idea to take the whole family. What were we thinking???????????? Kylie screamed for at least an hour and a half. I lost track after that. I ended up finally leaving the game and sitting in the car for the last half hour until she finally calmed down. All she wanted was her bed, and unfortunately she would not take Mommy's arms for an answer. The worst part was she fell asleep in the car for all of 10 minutes and then refused to go to sleep the rest of the day. We laid her down for a nap when we got home, and of course instead of falling asleep, she pulled her tube apart and made an enormous mess. I was so mad at her, I made her stay home with me to give out Trick or treat candy while the other three went out that night. I know it was mean, and I also know that she really didn't care, but boy oh boy she gave us a rough time yesterday.
The kiddos dressed up once again, for real trick or treating, this time Dallin has blue gel in his hair.
Well, Happy Halloween everyone, there is more candy in our house than ever.
For some good news on the little rug rat: and even though I don't have a picture of it, the candy was so tempting to Kylie (it was dumped on the ottoman) that she stood up for it. She has never pulled to a stand unassisted before. Very exciting. She has done it 3 times since and we are super duper proud of her development. So, yea Kylie, even though you were a little pill this weekend.

What a bunch of cute kids Ames! Seems like you are always having tons of fun with your kids at the coolest places. I'm jealous! So excited for Kylie pulling herself up...so cool!!!! Makes all the difficult times worth it, huh?!
I agree with Hols. You are always having a blast, everywhere you go. Except, it doesn't sound like the game that day. But you kiddos are so cute in their costumes. I love the death of a pumpkin pics. That's hilarious. Some day I will have to come a check out that Texas humidity. Glad Kylie is deciding to pull herself up! Candy can do wonders, right?! Cute kids, girl!!
