Swine Flu and OJ

Ok the swine flu is here...it is in my house and recently left my body, but don't worry it didn't go far.  It landed on an unsuspecting Kylie.  Oh my word, this is ridiculous.  The coughing and the fevers and the lysoling (I think  I made that word up).  David had to take 2 days off from work last week just so our family could survive.  When mom shuts down the whole system shuts down.  However, in a very typical husband manner, he RUSHED off to work Monday morning so grateful to be done with such overwhelming duties.  To his credit though, he did very well, being mom and taxi-cab driver and play date organizer and doctor/therapist taker--kudos my dear!

Ok on to the OJ...

Fact: If you leave a can of frozen orange juice in the back of a van, in October, in Houston heat, it explodes.

Fact: If said exploded can is left unnoticed because the normal driver of said van is in bed dying for days on end, the spilled orange juice will bubble and ferment.

Fact:  Bubbling fermenting orange juice smells a great deal like rising bread dough.  I felt like baking bread all day.

Fact:  The pleasant bread/yeasty smell only lasts a few hours, then it rots.

Fact:  One of the sickest smelling things I have ever attempted to clean up

Fact:  If previously mentioned husband did in fact leave the orange juice can in the car, accidently, he does feel guilty and will take over the clean up process.

Fact: After 2 days of cleaning and airing the car out, it's all better.

sick.

So sorry you were sick!!!! I am so glad you are feeling better. The oranged juice cracked me up. I laughed out loud. Sooo not something you want to ever discover - especially just after getting better. Take care of yourself!

Bummer! Sorry you were sick. Everyone around here is getting sick too. Hopefully we'll keep on steering clear of it. The oj sounds simply horrible to clean up. Sorry about that too. Good luck with getting everyone healthy.

I am so sorry you've been sick and that Kylie is sick now. I'm glad David helped you out. I'm sorry about that OJ too. That's gross.

Well I can tell you that just when you think your situation (the OJ situation) is bad, someone has something even worse. Me and a couple other Young Women leaders in our Ward were taking in crock pots full of soup into the church. This other leader spilled the ENTIRE contents of soup on the floor of her car. It was awful!! So just know that you aren't alone in your food in the car incident. I love your blog and the things you post. Thanks for the laughs! :)

No fun. I hope you are doing well now and that Kylie has a quick recovery. We are all getting over nasty colds. It's no fun! :( Thanks for the tips on the OJ - I would have never known! :)
