Sleep Walking
Have you ever interacted with a sleep walking child? It is quite amusing. On Monday night Emily came out of her room at about 10:30. We asked her what was wrong and she said she was scared, so we both went upstairs. David carried her back to her bed, but I couldn't leave it at that...what was she scared of? So, I laid next to her and asked her what was wrong. Nothing. So, I finally asked her if she had to go potty. She didn't really say anything, but got up and went into the bathroom. David and I were sitting there talking and checking on Kylie, suddenly we realized it had been at least 5 minutes and no Emily. She had fallen asleep on the toilet. I called to her and she got up and came to wash her hands, but instead started to brush her teeth. I corrected her and then she put her hand on top of the ducky soap dispenser to push the soap out, but her other hand was no where near the soap. It spilled all down the front of the duck and so she eventually just rubbed her hands on the duck and then finally to the water. She finally got back in bed and at this point we wanted to have fun. So, we asked her, why she got out of bed, "I had to wash my hands." David asked her what day it was, and she said it was Friday and fell right to sleep. It was Monday night. David made a video of her to prove it to her in the morning. She thought it was hilarious when she saw it, because she didn't remember a thing, of course.

Hahaha! We love to go bug the kids when they start talking in there sleep. They can say some of the funniest stuff.
Too funny - glad it was at 10:30 and not 2:30. Andy used to sleep walk when he was little and his parents have some humorous stories to tell. I've already told Andy that he's in charge of the sleep walkers, if any of our children pick up his habit.
funny! we had autumn in our bed for about a 1/2 hr last night at about 9:30, which is unheard of. she was just so hyper and sitting on the bed eating celery with james. we were just enjoying some alone time with her. it's not the same thing, but it's funny what they do when they are either half asleep, or when they are hyper and should be dead tired and sound asleep instead.
That's so funny! I've never thought about video taping them when they sleep walk. Next time!
That is too funny Ames! I love reading about the funny things your kids do. classic!
