Language and Preschool

Well, I am very late in announcing this, but Dallin started Preschool during Emily's second week of school. He loves it! All of my worrying for him hating it and crying for me, was pointless. He has a great teacher and seems to (slowly) be making some friends. All of his Joy School friends are repeating Joy School this year, so he's felt a little lost without them, but he's doing great!

Ok one other Dallin thought...(please excuse the implied language)
A week or so a go, my little buddy starts saying a-shi... You know what to add at the end of that. So, I calmly ask him to repeat it--make sure I'm hearing things right. Then I sit down and ask him to tell me where he learned that word. He says, "Nowhere, I just made it up!" He is very proud of himself. That all quickly changes to sadness when I tell him it is a very bad word. "Worse than bum or pee-pee?" "Yes, honey way way worse." He stops. I don't hear it again.

Fast forward to last night at the dinner table, I was talking quietly to David about something and I can't even remember what or why, but I said shut-up. Not even to David, it was about someone else and I remember saying it in jest. Anyway, Emily hears me and says, "Mommy said a bad word!" I apologize and try to move on. But Dallin has to know what I said. I didn't want to tell him and try to brush him off, Finally, getting frustrated he says, "Did you say, shi...!!!" No son. I don't believe I have ever said that word---David and I had a really hard time controlling our laughter!

This is Dallin at the suite at the Astros.  We all went last weekend (a week ago).
