Surgery??????????

Well, on Monday Kylie celebrated her 18 months of life. (Yay, she gets to start Nursery this Sunday!) She celebrated by spending the entire day at the doctors office/hospital for tests. It was scheduled earlier--don't panic kiddos! Anyway they took a good hard look at her kidney and it's function and then topped it off by a 3 hour clinic appointment. Well, I actually didn't attend any of the testing because Emily found it to be the perfect timing to get bronchitis. So, Emily had to get to the doctor for antiboitics, Kylie had to get to the hospital for an ultrasound and VCUG and I am only "Super Mom" in the stories. Well, my mom and sister were in Tulsa and David's parents were busy too, so David didn't go to work on Monday.

David headed off to the hospital with Kylie and I took Dallin and Emily to the pediatrician's office. One Z-pack and albuterol for the nebulizer and we headed home, dropped Dallin off at a friends, and headed for the Medical Center. There we got the news we'd been dreading. Kylie has had 4 UTI's in her short 18 months and the reflux she has on her one kidney has not improved, so we are going to have one more test to look for scarring on the kidney. If it is bad or if she has one more UTI, we are heading for the OR (operating room).

Kylie had surgery when she was 2.5 weeks old and a whoopping 4+ pounds. She almost died. They told us she was going to die, she got so ill from the surgery. I am a skiddish person by nature and the thought of having to put her under again terrifies me. It won't be for a few more months and it should only be day surgery, but I am still terrified and pray she will be ok.

On to other things. Kylie has been having a bunch of appointments--4 to 5 a week with therapies. This week 2 of her therapists got sick and one had a conference, so we only have one appointment this week. As much as I am grateful for the therapy, it has been a nice week. Plus David and I are heading out for a date night tonight. Pappadeaux and a movie. It has been a long time and I am grateful--thanks Amber!!!

One last tidbit, with the econmony in the toliet, The Home Depot has lowered their price of Behr paint by $6/can. I even have convinced David to take a couple of days off and in a couple of weeks we are going to be painting crazies! I just love changing room colors and all of our walls are white. I am so excited. Hey David, I posted about it so you can't back out now!!

Date nights can be a marriage saver,,,adult time is under rated and helps me get through the days. Kylie is in our prayers, God has her in His sights and will be by her side throughout the difficult times.
