Well, I guess 3 weeks after the fact I can still blog about Christmas, right?! We had a good break and it was fun to spend so much time with the kiddos, without worrying about schedules and bed times. We traditionally make treats and give them to friends, neighbors and teachers. Dallin and I spent one really long day baking, but he was a trooper and we had a good time. (Emily wasn't quite on break yet from school.) Here is Dallin unwrapping tons of candies.

And one of the final treat plates, not sure why the picture turned when I uploaded it, but it works.
The next day was the School Christmas Party day. Dallin had his mid-morning and Emily had hers in the afternoon. Here is a picture of Dallin and his class singing for their little production.
And here is one of Emily with her finished gingerbread house. You can't really tell in the picture, but when I showed up for her class party I took one look at her and realized she had pink eye. I saw no point in dragging her out of there then, she'd already spent the day with her classmates and I tried to keep her from touching anyone after that. That pink eye episode started off our family illnesses. Everyone got pink eye, but me (thank goodness). And that was followed by all of us getting a 24 hour stomach bug and finally David, Kylie and I all ended up in the doctor's office with upper-respiratory, bronchitis stuff. Wow, what's a Christmas break without some sort of trauma. Most of that first week I had no voice at all.
Here we are Christmas Eve, leaving the plate of cookies and the traditional soy and cow milk cups. We have always just left soy milk, but this year dallin insisted we leave regular milk too.

That afternoon we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house, (The Pomeroy side of the family all came to our house for Christmas Eve festivities.) Here is a picture of the Grandkids listening to Grandpa tell a story. This was right after the Nativity production, hence the costumes. Kylie was supposed to be a sheep and she did crawl around for a little bit, but the costume never made it on and she found this toy that was way more interesting than being a sheep anyway.
Well, the week after Christmas we all felt much better and actually went out and did some stuff. We saw Princess and the Frog, went bowling, went to the zoo, and and went to the Texas Bowl. We had a really good time being all together. New Year's Eve was pretty tame around here, but tons of junk food was consumed by all and we let the kids stay up until about 11, we all had had enough by then.
Well, we hope all of you have a fantastic 2010!
