Books
Ok, I rarely post questions on here, but we are heading out for a vacation in a little bit and I would love to take along a couple of good fiction books. I love to read, but never seem to have/take the time. I know some of you read like crazy, so if you have a couple of suggestions you could send my way I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

The most interesting book I've read lately that's not just fluff is "People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks. You can read my sister's review of it here.
For cheesy, lighthearted reading, I like Sophie Kinsella, Meg Cabot, Jane Green, Emily Giffin, and Katie Fforde.
Some less cheesy fiction I've read over the last year or so:
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
Moloka'i by Alan Brennert
And I really like the Women of Genesis series by Orson Scott Card. Church-y fiction.
I agree with Karla on her cheesy authors,,some good stuff there. I just finished Same Kind of Different As Me,,non fiction and you might have read it but good stuff. My Sisters Keeper, the Twilight Series, Dr. Suess....all good stuff!
Harry Potter!
Pick up some old Newberry winners -- very deep but not depressing -- Witch of Blackbird pond or Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. Try the Bayern trilogy by Shannon Hale (The Goose Girl, Enna Burning, River Secrets)
