kylie and physical therapy

I haven't posted in forever and there are million things going on, but news on Kylie always seems to beat out vacations or job changes or whatever...
Before her surgery she had an average of 5 therapy appointments a week (PT, OT and Speech), plus my OB appointments. I was tapped. We were working so hard to get her to walk and eat. Then the first of March that all came to a screeching halt. No therapies until after recovery. I was so upset. We were working so hard to reach a goal just to be set back. Well, the set back lasted longer and was way worse than I thought. She was released mid May to go back to therapies, however, I had a 1 month old and 3 kids in three schools and couldn't figure out a way to make it happen. It didn't. So, the second week of June she finally started up again after a 3 month hiatus. She had never had more than a couple of weeks break before. She went back to PT and was horrible. We started going twice a week. Still horrible. Would we have to go to a specialist and get her legs cast? Augghh?! I was so frustrated and mad. She wouldn't even stand with support, let alone hold on to something and take steps like she used to. She crumbled to the ground anytime we tried to put weight on her legs. Then we went out of town and she missed 3 appointments. I'm sure that didn't help...Today was her first day back. She screamed and cried the moment her therapist reached out to take her from me. I could hear here screaming from the lobby for another 20 minutes. What's the point? Then that little girl came out today holding on to the Little Tykes shopping cart, head held high, pushing it and taking steps toward me. She stood there holding on with no one holding her. The therapist helped with placement as she walked. Yay! She is back folks and this mommy is very excited!!
