Hello all! I have been a little out of the blogging scene for a few weeks. I have been obsessed with the last three books of the ever-popular (especially to the female Mormons) Twilight series. I read the first one before Kylie was born and then a couple of weeks ago decided to finish. So, now I am anxiously awaiting the opening of the movie in a few weeks and I am now slowly getting my house put back together from the days on end of neglect. As an aside, Emily fell asleep yesterday with the vampire teeth she got from trick-or-treating--maybe she's joined Mommy's obsession with vampires???? :) Hence the above picture.
Last weekend we went camping! (in our backyard) The main campsite we normally go to was booked and we didn't feel up to going anywhere else. So, we grilled dinner, ate on the back porch, built a fire in our newly aquired hand-me-down fire pit, made s'mores and camped in the tent. We had lots of fun. The weather was brisk and great. The Missionaries even stopped by and were really excited to get s'mores. We made the kids cinnamon rolls in the morning while we cleaned up.
Ok, now I realize that part of parenting means that when Halloween comes that you take a picture of your kids dressed up. We didn't. We were rushing around trying to get costumes on then trick-or-treating around our neighborhood, getting food ready and then heading to a friend's party. At the party there was more trick-or-treating, dinner, games and tons of late night fun. However, the costumes were ripped off my children by the time I realized that my camera was still safely tucked away in my bag. We did get a couple of pictures from the donuts on the string game--sans costumes. The older two were dressed up as JoJo and Goliath from JoJo's Circus (same as last year) so I'll post a picture from last year in their costumes and then some from the evening. Sorry. Kylie didn't fit into her little clown costume from last year though so she joined the circus fun with a fuzzy cheetah costume. They did have a blast and even though no one fell asleep until 11:30 Friday night, we all had a really good time. The kids (of course) were up at 7:30 Saturday morning, begging for candy. Thank goodness for Daylight Savings Time ending to add in a little extra sleep. :)
Also, we carved pumpkins for Family Night last week and the following day was "crazy-hair day" at school for Emily. So, here is a picture of the kiddos with their pumpkins. Dallin and daddy made a "scary-one" and Emily and mommy made a "funny-one." Also, Emily had just gotten home from dance class in the picture below. The other picture is just before school with her crazy hair. We got the idea from a high-school play we saw a few weeks back, She looks like she belongs with "The Who," from Dr. Seuss. We just flipped her upside down and put an empty plastic water bottle on her head and rubber-banded the rest at the top--added some hairspray and amazingly it stayed all day. Needless to say she got a TON of attention that day!
And lastly, many nights we put Kylie in bed with Emily--they both love it and they giggle for awhile before they fall asleep. Well, David just got a cute picture of the two of them tonight. Sweet Dreams ladies!

I can't believe how grown up Kylie is!! She looks great. Camping in the backyard looks super fun - we may have to give that a try!
I love the crazy hair idea! :) And Emily asleep with the teeth in her mouth is too funny. How fun to camp in your backyard - what a fun memory for your kids!
That is the sweetest picture of Emily and Kylie asleep in the bed. There is something about sisters sleeping by each other that is so precious.
Ryan and I were just talking about camping in our backyard. I think the girls would love it. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun.
