Yes! For all of those who are wanting to know we did close on our House on Friday! Yea! We were very excited and even more excited when the wire was actually sent to the correct bank this morning and our account finally revealed a significant gain--most of which is heading straight to our new house mortgage, but anyway it is there--thank goodness.
Well, how was my Mother's Day? I must admit I've had better! It all started a 9pm Saturday night. David was at the grocery store picking up ingredients for the cake I had to make for Sunday's Relief Society. The Young Women were in charge, so you know that meant the leaders were doing it :) The YW did serve though so that was nice.
Anyway, David was at the store and the older kids were in bed and I had a major mom moment. I am trying to mop my kitchen floor one-handed holding/bouncing a screaming Kylie. I realized at the moment of 9pm Saturday mopping holding a screaming kid that that was the essence of motherhood. What happened to the heels and when Saturday nights meant a date? Well, that awww moment passed, but the screaming didn't. Kylie eventually settled down around 12:30 am , David and I got in bed close to 1:00. At 3:18am (when it's that early in the morning you remember the exact time) Emily came downstairs and said that Kylie was at it again--poor Emily! She later told me that she had first tried to give Kylie her pacifier, and then tried to hide under her blankets and her pillow, but she couldn't get back to sleep so she came to get us.
So, from 3:18am until 6 or so I held a screaming child, (we did doze off a couple of times). Around 6 I realized she had a fever and David took over at that point and I went to bed--until 8. The kids came bounding in with flowers and presents and they were so sweet, but we have 9 am church, so it was short. Soon David and the older two headed to church and I took care of Kylie. David and I switched places after Sacrament meeting and he took her to the local pediatric Urgent Care clinic.
Well, after a urine test, CBC, 3 attempts to get a vile of blood (1 successful), two antibiotic injections, 6 band aids and 4 hours, David and Kylie returned home. She looked pale and exhausted, like she had been to war. I hate this! Basically they don't have a clue what is wrong with her, but I am heading to the pediatrician in an hour to get more antibiotic injections and another CBC. Her white blood cell count is high, but they can't figure out what it is she is fighting. She feels much better today--of course--it's not Mother's Day.
I have been a mother for 5 years now. 3 of those Mother's Days we have been in the ER, NICU or Urgent Care clinic--come on kids give it a rest. I would actually like to have a peaceful, calm, breakfast-in-bed kind of Mother's Day at some point--maybe next year.

I can't believe you've spent 3 out of 5 mother's days in crazy situations. You need to bring your kids over to my house and then go pamper yourself and call it a mother's day redo!
Amy, you are an amazing mom! I wish we lived closer. I miss you!!!
I'm glad you closed on your house. What a nice Mother's Day for you. My cousin spent Mother's Day in the ER with her baby....what's up with kids?! Is Kylie ok? Did they find out what was wrong?
Well David Pomeroy!!!!!! Rachel Nicely here. Jamie said she was going to be seeing you. You have a cute family! How are your parents? Hope to hear from you!
